Our courses are broken down into short, easy-to-follow video lessons, so you can learn step by step without getting lost in technical jargon.
Each certificate (Beginner and Intermediate) has 4 main modules, and inside each module you’ll find 10 micromodules — quick lessons that focus on just one concept at a time. Think of it like building blocks: you’ll start with the basics and stack your knowledge as you go.
Here’s what you can expect when you hit play:
- Bite-sized learning – Most videos are short and approachable, designed to fit into your schedule.
- Interactive activities – Alongside the videos, you’ll complete simple exercises that let you try out what you just learned.

The videos are created and taught by faculty and professionals from Fresno State, Fresno City College, and industry partners. They combine academic expertise with real-world insights, giving you a balanced learning experience.
And the best part? The videos are completely free once you register online. If you’re brand new, you’ll start with the Beginner videos. If you already have some experience, you’ll take a quick placement assessment to see if you’re ready for the Intermediate level.

Beginner Course
If you’re new to cybersecurity, this is where your journey begins. The Beginner Cybersecurity Certificate is designed for students with zero prior experience – no tech background required.
The Beginner course is all about making cybersecurity accessible — giving you the confidence to say, “I can do this.” Whether you want to protect your own digital life, explore career options, or build toward the Intermediate course, this is your first step.
Intermediate Course
Ready to take your cybersecurity skills to the next level? The Intermediate Cybersecurity Certificate is designed for learners who have either completed the Beginner course or already have some experience in the field.
The Intermediate course is where theory meets practice. It’s your chance to test out ethical hacking, strengthen your coding, and start thinking like a cybersecurity professional.
